I know that a lot of people undertake 365 challenges. A challenge where they commit to doing something everyday for a year.
This week I’ve decided to start my own version – a 52 challenge. A 52 week challenge to be a little more specific, where I do something every week. The something in question is to post at least one comment on a blog I like. To engage with the creators of the content I enjoy.
Sometimes I feel as though most of us exist in a sort of digital vacuum. We suck up all this great content delivered every day, but we never stop to actively engage with the content creators, because there is always more content to consume. Always more.
So, now the hunt is one to find great posts on great blogs so that I can start engaging with more people online and ultimately, learn more things.
P.S.If you have a blog with interesting content, I’d love to read it and interact with you! Please post your URL in the comments below or send me the link on my Contact page. Thanks!
Those who know me, know that I have a sprinkle of ADD, a dash of OCD and just a wee bit of THC in ye olde system. As such, I’m planning to change my blog theme in the very near future. I do like the look and feel of the current theme, but I don’t think that I’m displaying the right content in the right way. The new version of the site will allow me to use the site as a business resource as well as a soapbox. This version currently only lets me vent, which is great, but doesn’t pay the bills.
I’ve decided to use the always awesome Featured Content Gallery in the header section to rotate the content I choose. As always, I like dark, moody colours, so that’s what I’m sticking to. Hopefully, the new theme will be live by the end of next week. There are just a few more things I need to integrate before I let it rip.
What do you think?
I was chatting to Dave Duarte about this today and I started wondering about whether google indexes the comments posted on my blog. The reason I ask is that if someone is taking the time to reply to something of mine, I think that it’s fair that they should get a bit of love for that in the way of a link. Yes, I realise that the potential for spammers to take advantage of this fact exists, but hey – that’s why we moderate comments right? My question is specifically for wordpress.com and wordpress.org posts but if you know the answer for blogger, well then don’t let me stop you…
I realise that Ias with most questions on the net) this was probably dealt with before, but if anyone knows the answer to this, or can point me in the direction of a site where I can find some guidance, please let me know in the comment section, which may or may not be indexed by google.
P.S – before you think I’m a lazy bugger, I did try and google it first, but didn’t find anything that answered the question.
