DJ Craze goes nuts with Traktor Scratch Pro 2. Proves he’s a muthaf*cking monster

I’m a huge Native Instruments fan boy, all the way from their VST instruments to their DJ kit. In the video below you can watch DJ Craze do his thing on the new Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro 2 system alongside the Native Instruments Mashine (which I’ve been drooling over). The performance proves (again) what’s possible when the old school and the new school of DJing collide.

It’s been a good week for DJ posts, so if you like what you see check these out too:

  • How to convert a WAV file to an MP3 with Audacity

I work with a lot of media files, video and audio and a large part of the challenge when working with many media types is that formats are often incompatible. This is a quick tutorial on how to convert files with a .wav extension to a .mp3 file using the free open source audio editor Audacity. It includes instructions on how to install the LAME MP3 encoder required by Audacity to process the MP3 files.

How to embed a video in your blog post

Even though it’s one of the easiest things to do on your blog, I get asked this one quite a bit. Here’s a very quick guide on how to insert a video from YouTube or Vimeo into your WordPress blog.

Flambe – This week’s new tune

This is a preview of a tune I’ve been working on for a bit. It’s a drum driven track, very much in the vein of Copyright and The Columbian Drum Cartel. I’m still not happy with the rhythm that the percussion has, but I’m tweaking the swing and I think it’s pretty close.

Gorilla Marketing – live from technomadic

Day 3 of Nomadic Marketing at the UCT GSB

Listening to Allan Kent from Saatchi and Saatchi give a talk on youth and mobile in the modern internet. Used this vid to illustrate the way that the line between producer/consumer and critic is blurring and how brands are no longer in control of their brands.

Augmented Reality with wine – live from Nomadic Marketing

I hadn’t heard about this concept about 15 minutes ago from Pieter Van Der Lingen, and he just fried my noodle with the possibilities that this tech offers.
