Quotion.co is missing a lot of the “important” features that Wordpress offers, and for me that’s exactly the point.
If you don’t know about it, Quotion basically turns Apple Notes into blog posts. No fiddling with themes or plugins or databases or any of that.
Write a note, move it a folder and done.
I moved this blog from Wordpress.org to Wordpress.com and then finally here to Quotion and it’s where I will be staying for the foreseeable future.
Substance over Style
The format and design of this blog are not why people come or why they would stay. It’s basically style vs substance.
No one is arriving to this blog and then running screaming because the theme is atrocious. By the same token, no is beating a path to my door because of the theme. The words are the part that matter. And for me, the easier they are to get out, the better.
Ease of idea generation
I can get an idea going anywhere. I just open up the Notes app on my phone and voila - I have a blog post draft. Or even a full post.
The more ideas I can push out, the more likely I am to actually write something.

I read a lot of Paul Graham Essays and never once have I thought “I wish there was a widget here, that’s what would make me stay”.
It’s the writing. It’s always the writing.

I appreciate that Quotion essentially stripped away everything until only the essentials were left. And in my mind, it’s all the better for it.
